In reply to anu. Hi Anu, Yes, there are really a lot of different brands of tamarind available. The tamarind we had was a milder form. You can tell by the color. The really concentrated ones are dark, almost black. The milder ones are dark to light brown. Of course we have not tried every brand out there but most times, we just make our tamarind paste at home.
