Hi Geeta,

Unfortunately, we have not come across any of our Indian varieties that have the same sticky texture (not to say that it is not out there). If you ever visit a Thai restaurant in India, maybe you can ask them what they use and where they find it.

I love this website and Hetal and Anuja you do such a fine job!! Congrats and All The Best !! My problem is that I live in India and Thai sticky rice is not easily available here. Is there any local Indian rice that I can use as a substitute?? Or can local varieties be tweaked in such a way that I can get a similar taste and texture???

Hey ladies, I have been a fan of this dessert ever since I first had it in Bangkok about 3 years ago. I tried it at other restaurants here in Singapore but none came even close to that first taste i had in mind. Yours looks fabulous and I am definitely going to give it a try, hopefully it will enter into my "always at-hand" recipe book that I absolutely cannot part with. Keep up the good work :)
