Rava Idli (Instant Idli) is made from sooji (semolina) and is a wheat product.  Sooji comes in a fine and coarse variety, as well as a toasted variety.  We used the coarse one for the rava idli.  

Idli Rava (though the name is similar) is parboiled rice that has been coarsely ground and used to make traditional idli.  If the one you have is more granular and brownish, I think you must have toasted sooji -- used to make upma.]]></description>
