Hi Helga,

Dried (or fried) onions are mainly used in making biryani. See here: https://34.233.61.50/rice-dishes/vegetable-biryani-indian-rice-recipe.html. You can also add them to yogurt to make a quick yogurt flavored raita.

Hello, I only know a tiny, tiny basic bit about Indian cookery but recently went into an Indian supermarket here in the UK and bought lots of things, including a huge bag of DRIED ONIONS – but how are you supposed to use them? Any advice you could give would be most helpful – thank you.
