  3. I wanted to thank you for posting so many wonderful recipes, this one in particular simply made my day. I am living on my own in Seattle, WA and I’ve been trying to cook Indian food to sort of give me that taste of home. This dish reminds me of something similar that my mother used to make for me! Thank you so much for posting this on your site.

  6. Thanks for the awesome tuna recipe, and for your website. Indian food used to always be very daunting to me, but now I feel I know what to do. I’m American and my husband is Indian, and you have really helped me make food that he enjoys.

    Thank you so much!

    1. Hi Claire,

You just made our day! When we started SMTC, one of our biggest goals was to introduce Indian cuisine to non-Indians – basically make is so simple that anyone with or without prior experience can take on the challenge. You have just showed us that we are succeeding! Thanks a bunch for writing :).

  7. Hi,
Would it possible to freeze fish curry. Need not be this recipe. But other kinds of fish. kerala fish curry
    Thanks
    Simi

    1. Here is our response from the previous time you asked the question, reposting it incase you did not get it:
      Hi Simi,

Most Chicken Curry dishes freeze well. Always make sure you freeze in an airtight container to avoid freezer burns. When defrosting, defrost well before heating so the chicken pieces do not break up.

As for Fish Curries, fish is a very delicate. You can freeze but you have to be very careful while re-heating.

  10. Thanks for this great recipe! I made it along with one of your rice dishes… we live on the Oregon coast so I used tuna that a friend had canned from fresh-caught last summer. It was perfect, nice to use high-quality tuna for such a tasty dish! I love your site, it’s my only hope for Indian food.:)

  11. Wow!! I made this and it was amazing.

Can I use canned salmon to make this? If possible, can you please respond quickly, as I am planning to make it for a party this weekend.

I have tried the other recipies from your website and all were amazing. I loved the banana bread.

    1. Thanks, Christina!

About the canned Salmon, we have never tried it but don’t see any reason why it won’t work. You may have to adjust the spices a little but other than that, we think it’ll be great.

  12. hi hetal & Anuja:

  13. Hi,

How can I make this recipe with fresh raw tuna? Would I need to add water in this recipe or maybe bake tuna first and then add it to the recipe? I normally avoid canned or packaged food and like to use fresh ingredients.

    Thanks!

  14. Can I ask you the brand for the tandoori masala? I only find the tandoori masala paste in the grocery store which has a very strong flavor.
