Hi Anuja and Hetal,
I love your videos…so professional….so organized….I’m in awe about the way you both present it.
I didn’t know that Poland has so many vegetarian dishes. Are you a vegetarian Hetal ? I love to travel but food is always a problem as I’m vegetarian.
Good luck !! Will keep watching for more !!
love,
Krithika
The Pierogi z Jagodami I had were definitely blueberries. I think the correct translation for strawberry is “truskawki”. We’re so glad you are enjoying SMTC. Thanks for the support! π
Hetal, First of all, I absolutely love the show. I was wondering about the variety of vegetarian food you encountered in Krakow, as it’s a trip I’m planning to take at some point. the food looks beautiful!
Would you believe that we cooked pierogi on Sunday?!! My husband and I went over to a Polish friend’s house and spent three and a half hours making pierogi! We had a stuffing of potato, bacon, onions, and paneer. It was really deeelicious! Reminded me, so much, of the sweet “neorios” we make in Goa for Christmas π
When in India, please do a video similar to this. It would be a trip to experience. Great job and I’ve been following you two for a couple of years…great job..your jalapeno soup was a big hit at the corporate pot luck!!
“Cheat Sheet” is a term used when one is taking an exam – a small piece of paper with the answers written on it from which you can “cheat”. I had a “cheat sheet” with me with names of different foods (and what they were) I wanted to try. The Polish language is not an easy language for non-Polish (or Slavic) people and I knew that I would have a hard time reading the menus. π
Hi Hetal,
Good & informative video.Feel like making a trip myself π . I especially liked Pierogi z Jagodami ( Hope I got the spelling right) & Homemade ice cream. The ice cream looks so rich that i feel like eating one myself!
Thanks again for a wonderful video!
Hi Hetal, loved the video, absolutely enjoyed it.. i just had my dinner and logged on to watch your video, now all that polish food has made me even more hungry.. π
oh and im kinda also embarrased to admit that i mixed up the husbands.. i thought urs was anujas and anujas was urs.. jeeeeezzz!! forgive me!!
Loved the video. Thanks so much for sharing. What a lovely place Poland is! And as vegetarian I am so happy to realize that some European countries have so many good options to offer! the food, the place and of course you guys were looking great!
keep up the wonderful work!
WOW That’s Amazing!
I come from Poland! I live in GdaΓ βsk, which is north Poland by the Baltic Sea.
I’ve been to KrakΓΒ³w couple of years ago, and I liked it very much. Poland is a beautiful country with lots of wild life and many historical monuments.
Great video,
I live just in the country near Poland. I wonder if you’ll ever visit Czech Republic.
Watching the video I realized that not all the meals you were served were actually Polish. The pierogy ruskye are Russian “pelmenie” and the borscz is also Russian. But that’s the story of central Europe lol
I’ll be looking forward to seeing more videos from your travels;-)
I can’t agree with you. Ruskie doesn’t mean Russian (it would be rosyjskie). This is not a Russian dish. And barszcz from the video is Polish also and served with small dumplings stuffed with mushrooms is one of our dishes at Christmas Eve.
I can only add, that Polish cuisine is very similar to Ukrainian (it’s because of the history).
What a delightful video. Thanks for introducing us to a variety of cuisines. It looks like you had a very nice trip. I was amazed at the portion sizes and the lovely presentations. You truly are a “woman of the world”
hetal, hope you had a great time in Poland. Thanx for sharing with us. I really enjoyed watching the Polish Foods…I liked your outfit it was quite decent & stylish…
Hetal, After watching part of this video, I am very sure that if I ever go to Poland, I will be carrying some MTR packets with me :->)) Being a vegetarian who does not like cheese and mushrooms, I guess my choice there will be very limited! Anyway, thanks for the video.
Yup, Polish and Serbian are a bit different! But ”Bor” in Serbian means Pine, and in Serbia, blueberry grows naturally on Kopaonik mountain in it’s beautifull pine forests. π
Ofcourse we loved it. I must appreciate the fact that how much you love what you are doing and is so passionate about it. Aah..just love it :):)
I was going thru some recent comments posted for recent recipes and feel like conveying this…There are enough of beautiful things & beautiful people around us; if we choose to look through with eyes wide open with little bit of kindness, one will always find good things to thank for than to point out negative things that may hurt someone and eventually one’s ownself.
Hetal, you have warmed my heart beyond words. The recipes, beautiful smiles of you & Anuja compel us to come back to you again and again. Just so you know, you two make a difference in many lives.
Keep up the good work & god bless.
Cheers

P.S…..special thanks to Shrikant for filming you, food and Poland beautifully.

Hetal, that was a fabulous video!! So enthu of you to do this for your website! π Hope you and your hubby had a marvelous time in Poland (and what sounds like a grand trip to many more places)! Pls convey your viewers’ thanks to him for being so generous with the photography and letting you sample his entrees first for the video! π Cheers!
Thank you Hetal for taking us on a very yummy trip with you to poland. I was going to skip it – thinking most of the dishes might be non veg… but when I saw you munch a lot of those yummy ones… stayed on and watched the whole video.. Hope you enjoyed your trip!

This video was amazing….it looked almost like any travel or food channel video…!!!
i love to see your recipes…especially the desert recipes!!! Trying them all out one by one!!
Keep up the good work!!
Hi Sanjivni,
Thanks for your kind words and we see you are on a mission with the desserts – have fun π
At the video (time 08:17) you write blueberries, original is Pierogi z jagodami – there is a mistake. Right translation is: Dumplings with strawberry.
Thanks for video and delicious recepies! <3
Greetings from Belgrade π

Hi Rachel,
I was really surprised with the variety of vegetarian food available…many restaurants actually had a vegetarian section on the menu!
Awesome!

Wow Jolene! That’s awesome. We will have a pierogi recipe video sometime in the future. They are really delicious!

Very nice video, Poland looks very beautiful. The video is very much “Rachael Ray $40 a Day,” but without the prices. Very cute!
Great video .. loved to see Polan through your eyes. If we ever get there I will reach out to you for the “Cheet Sheet” :). Thank you!!
Hi Chandana,
Absolutely! It comes in handy :).

I am so down to earth to see your kind reply…
Thank you so mcuh

Waffles are grat!
With Boruvka! In my language it’s ‘Borovnica’ (Borovnitsa)
I thnik name comes for ‘Pine berry’ Bor = Pine! π
Nice video, thanks! I know some polish people too, come to the Balkans! π
Hi Alexa,
I think the name “borΓΒ³wka” comes from “bΓΒ³r”, which means “forest” in Polish.
Yup, Polish and Serbian are a bit different! But ”Bor” in Serbian means Pine, and in Serbia, blueberry grows naturally on Kopaonik mountain in it’s beautifull pine forests. π
Pozdrav Marta od Alekse π
