Diwali or the Festival of Lights can be a stressful time with the pressures of making the perfect sweets, mithai and snacks, making sure the home is impeccable for Dhanteras and Lakshmi Pooja, as well as getting your shopping done for your gold and silver coins and jewelry.
In the midst of all the confusion, it is hard to decide what to make for your family and friends, all the get-togethers, the taash parties and the give-aways.
We have tried to make it a little easier for you – we have compiled a list of Diwali mithai and snack recipes. Now all you have to do is go through it and decide which sweets and snacks will impress your friends and family 🙂

From our family to yours – a VERY HAPPY DIWALI!
What are some traditional Diwali Mithais (sweets) that are commonly prepared during the festival?
can we make neer dosa with idli better……
Hi Kumar,
The ingredients are different so they wouldn’t be called neer dosa. You can use idli batter that has been thinned out to make dosa.
Hi Hetal and Anuja,
My mom loves your recipe. She would love to know how to make Habshi Halva. Is it possible for you to show a video of that sometime in the future.
Thanks,
Anand
ps : keep up the good work
Hi Hetal and Anuja,

Wish you both a Happy Diwali:)

Hi,
I tried Chevda and it came out well…We can add some chopped cilantro too with curry leaves and that makes chevda green..
Thanks
Hi Rujata,
Cilantro has a really mild flavor that will probably go away when dehydrated but you can try it. Just make sure there is no moisture left or it will spoil the chivda.
Happy Diwali to both of you!
Could please suggest any mithais recipe made with equal or Splenda please.
Thanks
