  1. Hi Hetal and Anuja,

Love your website. I have seen all your recipe videos.. I keep coming back to your website for help when i have no clue what to make for lunch/dinner. Last year I made boondi ladoos on my husbands birthday. He absolutely loves them. He cam back from work that day, and i gave him the boondi ladoos along with his gift, he was so ecstatic. My mom-in-law was so proud that i made an attempt to make them at home, rather than just buying. And surely you both helped tremendously.

Thank you so much. Not just for that one recipe, but also for those days when i come home from work and have no clue what to make for dinner, all i do is come to your website for inspiration 🙂

  2. Hi Hetal & Anuja

First of all thanks for the variations of recipes and a whole lot of videos. They made my life easy. 3 years back, newly wed, new toUS and new to cooking, I landed on your page through Google. I was looking for a delicious sambhar recipe as my husband loves it. The idea of roasting sambhar powder for seasoning was awesome 🙂 My husband and his friends just loved it and whatever was left over, everyone took a to go box for later. From then on, I have graduated to making veg puffs and panchratni dal and not to forget the quick rice recipe – masala rice using chana masala. Every dish I made from SMTC was a super hit. Even though I read through the recipes, I always look at your videos, they are fun 🙂

Thanks and keep going. 🙂 Looking forward for more.

    Regards,
    Anitha

  3. My kids have been begging for chicken Biryani for years. Having a mother who Fell ill when I was a teenager and my father’s sudden unexpected passing a couple years back, and marrying into a very American family– I lacked a cultural handing me down of any desi recipes at all. This blog has been my savior in getting back some of the food traditions and dishes I have missed for so long. Thanks for the video, and the many videos that walk all of through your ciliary expertise!

  4. U guys are rocking …I love each and every recipe …especially the healthy kofta ,bean salad and etc…Hetal and Anjuna a very “SPECIAL THANKS to u both for wonderful and delicious recipes…Keep Rocking …U both guys are the best….I tried the puran poli recipe it is too goooooood….All the best …

  5. I have tried most of the recipes you posted and they were all really great!

It’s so hard to choose just one recipe that you taught that went over well since they all did. But it’s recipe for Chicken Kathi Rolls that I get asked about most. I have made it both with chicken or with paneer and it turns out great either way.

Of the desserts, the microwave Kalakand recipe is one that I make a lot since it’s so quick and delicious. When I serve it at a gathering, most are in awe of the fact that it was made entirely in the microwave!

  6. Hi ladies,

You two are made for each other. Besides the way you demonstrate to us the recipes to masalas to preservation techniques are simply great.
I tried the Reshmi Kebab and liked it very much. It was simple and tasty.

However on the downside, I also tried the tandoori powder. It turned out bitter. Do you use fenugreek seeds or fenugreek leaves? Please clarify.

    regards

    Anand

  7. Hi Hetal and Anuja

Waw! Another creative feature on the SMTC website. I have been visiting your website for about 4 years now. The first recipe I ever made I remember is Kaju Katli in 2008 and from there on the journey began. My daughter loved this sweet and it came out very good. Next I guess I made fish cutlet, that was a success too! Since then I have ventured to cook many recipes that my daughter likes and that are all taken from SMTC, like rava laddos, Peda, funnel cake, Gobi munchoorian, spicy chicken curry, palak paneer, and the “super hit that has become a regular dish in our home is Egg Curry. We loved it the most coz it has coconut milk (a must for most of the south indian cooking) and egg into it and can be cooked deliciously without many many spices.” Although I haven’t hosted any big parties, when my new cook is loved by all at home then it is the credit to you both. You both have surely added a pinch of spice to small families and big families, and parties. Thanks for being so creative and wish you both a Good Luck!

  8. I made your jalapeno soup for Thanksgiving potluck and it was a big HIT!! My husband is a ceramic artist(www.creativewithclay.com)and we served the soup in his little tumblers which were perfect as the soup remained nice and hot as opposed to serving them in bowls and it becoming cold so fast (I live in the Pacific Northwest).
What I loved about the recipe (as is the case with most of your recipes) is that it was so simple and easy to prepare and so mouthwateringly tasty!!!
Thank you for all the good work you gals do in bringing there wonderful and non-intimidating recipes to our homes! Love it and never stop bringing them to us, your viewers 🙂
    You go girls!! 🙂

  10. Dear Hetal and Anuja,

Wish you both and your family a very happy new year! And big thanks for being so awesome!
I came to US around 4 years back with no cooking experience and yours was the first website which made me feel confident in my kitchen. I am a big fan of you. Since then I have made many recipes and they all have been a great success.
Recently I made Kale Chips for our house warming party and what a response! They all thought I was brilliant to come up with this recipe but I did mention that it’s SMTC girls and not me.
I like the recipe because not many people have tried it before, so it’s unique and has the wow factor! Very easy to make and doesn’t take much time and plus healthy! All in all, a great way to kick off your party!
Again thanks for posting recipes, I really appreciate the variety and simplicity of your dishes and of course the hard work behind it,. Keep rocking!

  11. Hi Anuja and Hetal,

  15. Hi Hetal and Anuja

Thank you for your awesome website and very helpful videos. I have tried many of your recipes but the one which stands out is the dosa with the masala potatoes. I have tried many of your Recipes. But one which was unforgettable is Daal Baati Churma. I have seen by mom preparing several time but never asked her about the recipe. After my marriage my hubby frnds were supposed to come for dinner. Thy were from North and they like rajathant i recipe very much. So i thought of making dal bati. Pratibha

  18. Hello Hetal and Anuja,
I was so happy the first time I found your site and have visited it many times since. I have tried many of your recipes – mostly the vegetarian ones.
My favorite recipe from your site is the Eggless Chees Cake, made with ricotta cheese. It was served to my sister who loved it especially because it is a healthy cheesecake with fewer calories. I love the cardomonn in it too! I was able to follow your recipe and have since made my own variations: dried coconut, chopped pecans, different dried fruits, etc. A recipe that is given is a gift and becomes a gift to others when we add our own creative inspiration. Thank you for a wonderful program!

  20. Hi Hetal and Anuja,

One of the days no veggies in the fridge – only papad at home, I had made this sabzi couple of times and was okay. I requested my husband to search if there is any recipe for this and your website popped up with authentic recipe – two beautiful ladies absolutely training from scratch how to go about making this sabzi. I tried step by step with your video running by side and it was instant hit with my little one who is absolutely no no and so fussy you sweat out to make him eat anything – he asked for more and more. My hubby darling was thrilled with his find!!! Me very satisfied monther and wife – all thanks to you. After that it has become a ritual to surf your site, have registered for free mailers, made paneer frankies (again instead of regular potato you used sweet potato and it turned out superb once again appreciated by my little one). One can manage with grown ups – but reall test is if you come out with flying colours with the little ones – and YOU Both made it possible for me. Many Many thanks and much grateful. Tuesday Tips – I always look forward to. Keep it up – You have made our life easy! God Bless You!

  21. I agree with most readers that it is hard to pick a single recipe but my favorite is Tandoori Broccoli and son enjoys fruit smoothie. All most all recipes turn out great. Although I was a decent cook, cooking good food consistently was challenging. Today I feel pretty good about my cooking and love sharing good food with friends. This definitely wouldn’t have been possible without you guys (and some other Indian Chefs) and today on Thanksgiving Day I thank you both with the bottom of my heart.

    SMTC has taught me
-To adapt Indian taste to nontraditional Indian ingredients like broccoli, mushroom, avocado etc
    – Be creative with food
    – Taught me fool proof cooking techniques
    – Inspired me to get my son to cook after watching yr kids make fruit smoothie etc
    – Learned new recipes from different regions which I had never heard like mirch mumtaz, panch masala
    – Learned amazing tips making things so much simpler
    – Last but not the least – you can be still around food and manage to stay slim and trim.
So continue the good work and spread the appetite :))))

  22. Thanks for all the wonderful recipes, Hetal and Anuja. I have tried out a lot of your recipes, they all turned out yummy and fantastic. I made Chocolate Burfi ( double layered) for a Housewarming party , It was such an easy but very delicious sweet, everyone liked it so much, the real credit goes to u girls for simplify and making the recipe delicious yet super easy.

    Thanks once again.

  23. I came to US just one year back with absolutely zero cooking experience. From an amateur cook I have now become an expert chef(this is what my buddies especially my hubby call me now 🙂 ). Believe it or not whenever I think of cooking something, the first thing that comes to mind is showmethecurry.com. This website has never let me down. I have tried right from your Appetizers, Breads, Curries to Fusion, Desserts and Beverages. I also enjoy your videos where you throw light on tips & tricks and other useful information. Not just cooking, I have even stacked my kitchen by watching your videos on how to setup kitchen. Thanks to you guys. The energy that you guys show has inspired me to experiment with cooking. And now cooking has become my stress buster.

Now coming back to the ONE recipe that have got me accolades.. Hmm.. Cant think of one, in fact I would say I have got appreciation for quite a lot of recipes. To name a few, simplest and the easiest Carrot Halwa, Vegetable Quesadilla, Bean & Cheese Enchiladas and different varieties of Parathas.

Thank you guys for making cooking so easy and fun.
Keep it up and all the best.

    Happy New Year!!!

  24. Sorry,i did not finish and had not putmy address. The mexican lasagne is good forpotlucks and so easy to make. I have to make it all the time forparties now. Every age group can eat it,children and american friends as it is not too spicy. The best thing is that it is so simple to make and we usually have all the ingredients at home anyway.Simply delicious!!!!!!

  25. I just like your recepies, they are so easy to follow. i have made several and learnt alot. i have made khandvi, breakfast burritos, gobimanchurian, chakri, and adai. So many more but my 2 favourite are mexicanlasagne and coconut macaroons which you put uprecently, i have made those 9 times already. I guess the most easiest simplest and filling is the mexicanlasagne so that will be my choice. Thank you again.

  27. Hetal and Anuja

Your recipes are so popular, yummy and mind blowing. where should I start in simple chole or the complex kajus, besan burfis made easy….

Having a toddler at home making sweets is tooo hectic but you made it real easy… My lil one loves Kaju…. some times i have to bribe him a Kaju (actually he always asks 2 one for each hand) if i have to pacify him 🙂 Thanks a ton you go gals

  28. The sweet corn soup was the simplest and the most delicous soup that I had made with your recipe and everyone at the SuperBowl party at our house loved it…Thanks for all the wonderful recipes..

  29. I had my freinds coming over to visit, were all broke college kids, and I had just the right ingredients when I saw your chicken curry in a hurry video on youtube. Not only was it quick and easy, it was delicious and was a hit with my freinds whom have never had indian food (were Mexicans). They loved it they were licking the plates clean! I had such an abundance of cream cheese and carrots that I was also able to bake your carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. That was a group effort and we all enjoyed making it, baking it, and eating it. Only thing we argued about was who had to wash the dishes…we flipped quarters, I lost.

  30. Hi Hetal and Anuja, sorry, I’m re-writing my comment again, but I thought you needed a mailing address, not an email above, so I’m writing my comment again. Anyway, as I said before, LOVE all your recipes but the biggest hit at my family gatherings is your recipe for samosas. A frequent request!!! My only comment is that I prefer to mash my potato filling, add the spices and peas instead of just cubing the potatoes since it makes it easier to fill and eat!
Thank you again for amazing recipes.
    your loyal fan,
    Dena

  31. Hi Anuja & Hetal,

The Egg curry in coconut milk that I made for people from my office was a hit. Despite being from different ethnic backgrounds, they all loved it equally. Moreover, the recipe is so simple to make that I don’t have to stress too much about it. Thanks for sharing it with all of us.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

  32. Hi Hetal & Anuja, I love all your recipes and make them often! But my most popular request for family gathering has to be your recipe for samosas. Big hit!!! The only comment I can give is that I tend to mash the potato filling instead of just dicing or cubing it and then add the spices and peas. It’s easier to fill and eat. Other than that, great recipe as always.
    Take care,
    Dena

  33. Hi Hetal & Anuja.. Its really hard to pick one recipe. I have tried so many dishes and everyone just love them. Once for a get together I made veg. manchurian. The recipe you shared is so perfect that everyone enjoyed them. And specially here, u can’t find good Indian or Chinese restaurants so trying your recipes make me feel like I am back in India.
Thanks for sharing the delicious recipies!!

  34. Hi Hetal & Anuja! Love your website, videos, and recipes! The recipe that I have gotten rave reviews on is the Chai Masala Cake. Every time I make it, it is loved by all. You two are geniuses! Thanks for sharing your wealth of knowledge!

  35. For Halloween, I made your gobi manchurian – and for the rest of the night, and to this day I’m known as the witch who makes enchanting gobi manchurian 🙂

Spicy, flavorful, easy fun way to use up the gobi! I almost felt like I was in a gully relishing the goodness (almost because I had to make and clean up, not served! But worth every moment!!)

  36. Hello,
Thank you so much for wonderful and quick recipes. Really love your works and inspiring. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.

    sincerely,
    Ismat

  37. Hello, Hetal and Anuja. I look forward to your posts. Once per year I visit a friend and her husband and we prepare a vegetarian Indian dinner. She is gluten and dairy intolerant, so I decided to make the Millet Dosa, with a potato filling. I made the dosa batter the day before to let it ferment before going to their home. It was a huge success and she almost cried because she loves dosas and cannot eat them, usually.
Thanks so much for your recipes and for helping to make this a very successful dinner.

  38. Since when I got married cooking has become my passion with a punchline “no junk food”. I happened to know your site through internet surfing and tried lot of your recipes. We had a potluck at my home and I made Lettuce wraps as an appetizer and it was a huge hit, everyone liked it a lot with sweet potato and sour apple stuffing. My husband had his dinner eating just the appetizer. I really enjoyed people enjoying my food. The best part is the Apple and its sour taste and crispiness made it more delicious. Great idea! Thanks a lot for the recipes and I must say ladies, GOOD JOB!!! You really are adding a pinch of spice!

  39. Hello Hetal and Anuja

You guys just rock.Your both are awesome and your receipes. I have tried many of them, and the “SUPER HIT” was “KALAKAND, NAN KHATAI” etc. I called couple of american/chinese friends for dinner and they liked the desert so much, they started making and you can’t believe my chinese friend is making the same desert for thanksgiving party tomorrow. She is so happy to know how easy it is and my american friend took her to office, and they started liking the desert and our indian stuff. Kudos to both of you. All my indian friends keep saying “You are addicted to the show and them and they enjoy the food”

the best part among u guys is the way you picturise the receipes looks so easy and all the time smiling which enhances the show as well as the dish.
Both of u have a wonderful holidays and just keep smiling…..

  40. I tried Kalakand Barfi and it was a huge success. This recipe is super delicious and super easy to make. I have also tried flower manchurian for my husbands office potluck and everyone asked me for the recipe… and i share your web site with them
