Summer=Mango
Simple as that!
Lassi is a refreshing yogurt beverage that has a cooling effect and is great for the summer months. Though many different types of lassis are available, none are as famous as the renowned Mango Lassi. Enjoy the perfect combination of Mango and Yogurt with this mango lassi recipe and enjoy the summer. 🙂
Ingredients:
Ripe Mango
Yogurt
Sugar
Ice
Ginger Juice (optional)
Powdered Cardamom (optional)
Method:
1. Wash, peel, cut and cube Mango.
2. In a blender, take same amount of Mango and Yogurt.
3. To that add in Sugar, Ice and Ginger Juice.
4. Blend it to a smoothie consistency.
5. Pour into a glass and sprinkle some Powdered Cardamom on it and serve immediately.
Tip:
1. Use a sweet, ripe and a non-fibrous mango for best results.
2. Add in some milk and extra sugar if the yogurt is too sour for.
3. Change out to another fruit for a different flavor.
Awesome recipe…
I was wondering that you guys can also show ‘Avocado shake’ in your Beverages section. I make it with some avocado, milk, honey and ilaichi. These all are mixed and ground really well. It tastes yummy and is great for health.
The yogurt used in your video seemed really thick. Will it not be better to use low fat or no fat yogurt so easier to drink. Can I make mango lassi with no fat or low fat yogurt?.
Thanks
Hi Piloo,
You can use any type of yogurt for lassi. When yogurt is blended, it liquefies quite a bit (even if it is very thick).
Thanks alot for your prompt reply.Made it with low fat yogurt and it was delicious
Hetal, Anuja,
Mango lassi has always been my favourite. However, the interesting part is that anywhere outside India, I have seen it the most Indian you can get. Any indian restaurant outside India would have it (I have got it even in Hongkong, Macau, Amsterdam where you least expect it). However, in India, you would never get a mango lassi at the restaurants. Having said that, it is a great recipe and I love mangoes in whichever form they take.
Thanks. I feel like having it right now.

Yes but i don’t add ginger juice…just cardamom and saffron for flavor with curd, sugar and mango.
I add a pinch of saffron too in my mango lassi…it tastes divine…every time adding pinch of spice this time try adding pinch of saffron 🙂
Simply great.
Hi Anuja and Hetal: I like your recipe even better, I used to make it with mango, Yogurt and milk and water. Thanks, You both are awesom.
Love you girls! Lucious Lassi! I have used canned mango pulp for lassi as well as a Mango pie. Canned pulp is a fitting substitute for fresh mango. Keep up good work ladies. P. S. I have a wonderful mango tree in my yard in Florida. This year, full of baby mangoes.
Grace, we are soooo envious of you!
Enjoy your homegrown mangoes 🙂
No more canned mangoes for you 😉
Hi,
Lovely drink..
Hi,
Adding cardamom powder to the lassi is a great idea. As you have said, mangoes and lassi are the essence of Indian summers.

Hi Abbey,
Sorry we missed your question…sometimes questions just fall through the crack (it is not intentional).
Yes, if fresh mangoes are not available, you can use the canned but the taste will be distinctly different.
