  1. Hi Hetal and Anuja
This is with reference to your Tuesday tip to make perfect yogurt. thanks to this tip I have been successfully making yogurt at home. But since two weeks since temperatures have been falling I am having problems. It does set good but has this stringy consistency when you scoop out a spoon of it. Hoping you have a solution to this

    Thanks again
    Radhika

  2. Is this the same Raita that I see at Indian restaurants that is placed atop salads? If so, I just love all the fresh and natural flavors that Indian food provides and I am so impressed with you two and thank you for making Indian cooking accessable to all of us who love tasty Indian food.

    1. Hi Shadia,

This raita can be a salad dressing but also enjoyed with things like biryani or aloo paratha, etc. We’re glad you are finding SMTC useful!

    1. Hi Shreya,

The big microwaves work the same way as small ones. You have to be careful not to put anything metal inside, including foil. We try not to heat or cook food that has oil in it in plastic containers as it tends to burn the plastic. Use glass if and when possible.

  8. Hi Hetal and Anuja,

I have had this raitha whenever we order biriyani from the restaurant. I was wondering, how it is made. Thanks for sharing this raitha recipe. I would try it tonight for sure. I usually prepare the onion and tomato raitha. This can be tried for a change.

  10. Hi Hetal and Anuja,

    Just a ques…
let say i dont have chaat masala, what can i substitute it with? or if i dont the particular ingredient is it ok? its difficult to find this masala in my country.

    Thanks…

    1. Hi Jayme,
Chaat Masala is a combination of a bunch of spices including a few different types of salts….some of them very hard to find 🙁
Try skipping it and add some Amchur (dry Mango Powder)
Hope you can find that….or just skip it, it’ll still taste great 🙂

  11. Hi
    thank you for the recipies
I want to ask about the yellow yougert which served with biryanilike in HyderAbad i have tried there and i really found it delicious if you can give me the recipie
    thank you alot
and i really like your site

    1. Hi huda

It sounds like turmeric powder is added in the tampering. In andhra area we tamper yogurt with turmeric powder, mustars seeds, fenugreek(only 3,4),onions, curryleaves. And this is another version of yogurt chutney, i guess you happen to taste the same item. I just gone through this page so very very late information….

Bye the way i love your simple yet nice presentations heetal and anuja…all the best

      Raghu

  13. The chutney was delicious…everything that I have tried has been delicious so far…every single dish..I was wondering if u could show us how to make pani puri..especially the hot pani or watery chutney for pani puri…that would be of great help to me as well as all other viewers.

    Thank you!

  14. Looks delicious!

Would also like to know what kind of blender/grinder you’re using. Seems perfect for chutney making…

  15. Hetal/Anuja,

Could you please please tell me where did you buy the grinder to grind the cilantro mint and the whole thing. Its a good one. Please let me know…….I would appreciate it….

    Thanks and Regards,
    Shivu
